Streets
Streets are classed as being traffic routes or light traffic routes in the street zones of the city plan. The civil engineering service area is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets, light traffic routes in the city plan area, and street lighting.

Parks and exercise sites
The civil engineering service area plans, constructs, and maintains the public areas, which include parks, playgrounds, swimming beaches, boat beaches, rug washing locations, gardening allotments, and the graveyard for pets, as well as sports fields, ball game fields, and exercise routes. In the winter, skating rinks, hockey rinks, and ski trails are also maintained.

Office space and properties
The building planning and construction unit of the civil engineering service area is responsible for the project design and development of the city’s building construction sites. The property maintenance unit of the civil engineering service area takes care of the city’s real estate property.
